One Year In: Kyle Norwood and TWOFEW Celebrate a Rhythmic Reunion

A Full-Circle Moment, One Year Later
A year ago, TWOFEW welcomed Kyle Norwood behind the drums. It was exciting news for the band, but it also felt like something more personal: a reunion years in the making.
“All The Little Things” Comes to Life
Kyle’s first song released with TWOFEW, “All The Little Things,” is a milestone we’re proud to share. The video brings the track to the screen and gives fans another way to feel the energy behind this new chapter. For Kyle, it’s a first release with the band. For TWOFEW, it’s one more moment we get to celebrate together. Watch the video, listen to the song and celebrate Kyle’s first year with us.
Kyle and Michael had already spent 8+ years building music together in Complicate/Simple. They’d written, recorded and played side by side, creating the kind of musical connection that doesn’t disappear when one project ends. So when Kyle joined TWOFEW, there was history in the room from the first rehearsal.
Now, one year into this chapter, we’re celebrating more than a new name in the lineup. We’re celebrating the rhythm, trust and shared memories Kyle has brought back into the band.
Some milestones call for a big announcement. Others give you a reason to pause, look around at the people beside you and say, “That was a pretty great year.” This is one of those moments.

The Reunion Had a Sound of Its Own
When we announced Kyle’s arrival, we talked about the musical chemistry between him and Michael. That chemistry wasn’t something we had to invent or explain. It was already there, shaped by years of playing together and learning how the other person hears a song.
There’s a particular kind of comfort that comes from sharing a musical history. You don’t need to spend every rehearsal figuring out where the other person might go. You can listen, react and make room for what’s happening in the song.
That doesn’t mean everything stays the same. A familiar connection can bring new energy when it meets a different band, a different set of songs and a new moment in everyone’s life. Kyle’s return to the fold brought that combination to TWOFEW: a foundation we already knew and fresh possibilities we could explore together.
One year later, that reunion still feels special. The songs keep moving forward, and so does the band.

A Drummer Who Listens to the Song
A drummer can change the feel of a band without taking over the sound. The right beat gives a song its direction. The right pause gives a lyric room to land. A fill can lift a chorus, while restraint can make the next hit matter even more.
That balance has always been part of what makes Kyle a strong fit for TWOFEW. He knows how to bring power when a song calls for it, and he knows when the music needs space. He listens to what’s happening around him and plays in service of the whole.
That kind of attention can be easy to miss if you’re only waiting for the biggest drum moment. It’s there in the way a song settles into its groove, in the push that carries a section into the next one and in the confidence that lets everyone onstage lean into the performance.
For a band, that trust adds up. It helps each member take chances, respond in the moment and stay connected to the music. Kyle brings that steady presence with him, and it’s been a pleasure having him in the TWOFEW lineup this past year.

Old Friends, New Chapter
The story between Kyle and Michael began long before this version of TWOFEW. Their time together in Complicate/Simple gave them years of shared musical experience, including the work that led to the band’s full-length album Blue; an album that also prominently featured incoming bassist, Danielle Lazar, Michael's Wife, and future Co-Founder of TWOFEW, on songs like "Heart on Her Sleeve," "Kyle's Corner" and "Head Over Heels."
Those years matter, but they don’t define everything that comes next. This is a new chapter with its own sound, its own goals and its own life onstage. The past gives it roots. The present gives it momentum.
That’s part of what makes this anniversary worth celebrating. Kyle didn’t just return to a familiar partnership. He joined a band that has kept growing and changing. TWOFEW has its own history, songs and personality, and Kyle has become part of that story too.
A reunion can bring back memories. A new band chapter asks what you’ll do with them. Over the last year, we’ve had the chance to bring both pieces together: the experience we share and the music we’re making now.

The Best Part Is What Comes Next
Anniversaries invite a look backward, but they also make us think about what’s ahead. We’re proud of the year Kyle has spent with TWOFEW, and we’re excited to keep creating, rehearsing and playing together.
There are always more songs to work on, more stages to share and more moments that can only happen when a band is in the room together. A strong rhythm gives you something solid to build on. It doesn’t decide exactly where the music will go. It gives the band the confidence to take it somewhere new.
That’s what Kyle’s place in TWOFEW means to us. He’s part of the foundation, and he’s part of the forward motion. His history with Michael makes this reunion meaningful. His work with the band over the past year makes it feel like home.
Kyle, thanks for bringing your talent, focus and friendship to TWOFEW. We’re grateful for the music we’ve made together so far and for the shared history that brought us back into the same band.
To everyone who’s followed this chapter, come out to a show, listened to the songs or cheered us on from wherever you are: thank you for being part of it. Your support makes these milestones even better.
One year down. The beat is steady, the band is moving and there’s plenty more music ahead.
