Double Drop: TWOFEW Releases Two Live Videos from Whisky A Go Go

One night at Whisky a Go Go. Two songs. Two very different reasons to turn it up.
We’re dropping live performance videos for “Coming Home” and “We Were Loud,” both filmed during our September 26, 2026 show at the legendary venue on the Sunset Strip.
One reaches into the next chapter of TWOFEW with Happenstance. The other brings a song from our debut record, Lips Blue, back to the stage. Together, they give you a little of where we started, where we’re headed, and why we keep doing this.
If you were there, here’s your chance to revisit the night. If you couldn’t make it, pull up a seat. We’ve got two performances ready for you.
This is our double drop. Let’s rock out.

Two Videos. One Night on the Sunset Strip.
Playing Whisky a Go Go means bringing our own songs into a room with a history that stretches far beyond us.
On September 26, we shared the bill with TRAPT and Sygnal to Noise. We brought the band, the music, and a set that let us put different parts of the TWOFEW story in front of the people who came out.
Now we get to share two pieces of that show with everyone else.
These videos belong together because they show different sides of the same band. “Coming Home” starts with a deeply personal request from a friend. “We Were Loud” comes from the record that introduced listeners to our music.
You can watch either one first. We’d love for you to watch both, spend some time with the songs, and tell us which one sticks with you.
There’s plenty happening in TWOFEW land. Today, we’re making room for these two performances.

“Coming Home”: Seven Tours and One Request
The story behind this song began with a conversation.
We asked a close friend who’d served seven tours of military duty what kind of song we should write. His answer was simple: write one about coming home.
That gave us something to sit with.
Coming home to your family. Coming home to familiar voices and the people who’ve been waiting. Coming back after experiences that don’t simply disappear because you’ve reached a familiar place.
And sometimes, finding your way back to yourself.
We couldn’t put every service member’s experience into a song, and we wouldn’t pretend to. What we could do was listen to our friend, take his request seriously, and write something that honored the feeling behind it.
That’s where this track started. It’s why we want you to know the story before you watch the performance.
The full band brings the song to the Whisky stage in this new video. It’s a chance to hear the music and remember the conversation that gave us a reason to write it.
For Those Who Serve, and Those Who Wait
This performance is dedicated to veterans, active-duty service members, military families, and the people whose loved ones never made it home.
Thank you for your service. Thank you to the families who keep showing up through the waiting, the distance, and the uncertainty.
We know those experiences aren’t all the same. People bring different histories to a song like this, and we want to respect that. For some listeners, the military connection will be immediate. For others, the words may bring up their own thoughts about family, loss, distance, or belonging.
There’s room for those connections.
The dedication stays at the heart of the song. What you bring to it is yours, and we’re grateful if the music gives you a moment to think about someone important.
If you share this video with a veteran or military family, a simple personal message can mean a lot. You don’t need to find a perfect speech. Letting someone know you thought of them is enough.

From an Early Recording to Happenstance
Some of you heard this song long before we shared the Whisky performance.
On March 5, 2025, we released a raw birthday recording with Michael on piano and vocals and Danielle on bass. It was a cell phone recording, an early chance to hear the writing before this full band version reached the stage.
We’re glad that version is part of the song’s history.
Now you can hear another chapter of it. The new live video gives Michael, Danielle, David, and Kyle a place in the performance together, while the reason behind the writing remains the same.
The song is part of what we’re building with Happenstance, our third record. Sharing it this way lets you hear the material in a live setting while we continue bringing that next chapter into focus.
If you’ve followed it since the early recording, thank you for staying with us. If the new video is your first introduction, we’re happy you’re hearing it now.

“We Were Loud”: Back to Lips Blue
The second half of this double drop takes us back to our debut record.
“We Were Loud” is from Lips Blue, and it’s one of the original songs that helped introduce people to TWOFEW. Getting to bring it to Whisky a Go Go on September 26 gave us another chance to put that part of our story onstage.
A debut record becomes a reference point. People find their first favorite track there. They hear the band for the first time. A song starts becoming part of somebody else’s day, drive, playlist, or memory.
We don’t take that lightly.
Working on new music doesn’t make those earlier songs less personal. We still get to play them, share them, and meet listeners who are just finding them now.
That’s part of what makes this video exciting for us. It brings a song from the beginning of our recorded story into the same night as material connected to the record we’re building next.
The Beginning Still Belongs in the Set
There’s something good about looking forward while keeping the first record close.
Lips Blue is part of how people came to know us. Even as TWOFEW keeps moving through new songs and performances, that music still has a place in what we do.
For longtime listeners, this video is another way to spend time with a familiar track. For somebody who’s only heard our newer music, it’s a chance to go back and hear another part of the band.
We like that those audiences can meet in the same performance.
You don’t need to know our entire catalog to press play. You don’t need to have been at the show or followed us from the first release. Start with the song that catches your attention, then see where the next one takes you.
We’d love to know if this performance sends you back to Lips Blue. Even better, tell us which song you’d want to hear live next.

Four Players Bringing the Songs Together
TWOFEW is Phoenix’s original family-fronted piano rock band. These two videos put the music in the hands of the four people bringing it to the stage.
Michael Lazar is on vocals and piano. Danielle Lazar plays bass. David Lazar plays guitar. Kyle Norwood is on drums.
Different parts, different responsibilities, one band working through the songs together.
The piano is central to our sound, but the performance belongs to the whole group. Guitar, bass, drums, and vocals each have a part in how a song reaches the people listening.
That’s why we’re excited to share live footage alongside the recordings. It gives you another way to spend time with the band and the music.
These tracks come from different places in our story. Seeing them performed by the same lineup, on the same stage, is part of what makes this double release feel right to us.

A Look Back and a Look Ahead
Putting these two performances out together gives us a way to connect the records without making you wait for an entire album to hear something from the stage.
“We Were Loud” belongs to Lips Blue. “Coming Home” points toward Happenstance. Between them is a band that keeps writing, rehearsing, recording, and looking for the next chance to play.
We’re proud of the music we’ve already shared, and we’re excited about what’s taking shape now.
You’ll hear different stories in these two songs. We hope you’ll also hear the connection: people making music together and trying to give each song the attention it deserves.
That’s the thread we want to keep following.
For everyone who’s been part of it so far, thank you. For everyone just arriving, there’s plenty of music to get into, and we’re glad you’re here.

Thanks for Being Part of the Night
A show keeps living after the equipment is packed away. People talk about a song on the drive home. A friend sends a clip. Somebody who couldn’t make it asks what they missed.
These videos give us something to share in those conversations.
To everyone who came out on September 26, thank you for spending part of your night with us. To everyone watching now, thank you for giving the songs a little space in your day.
We know there’s a lot competing for your attention. Choosing to watch an original band, hear a song’s story, and pass it along is something we appreciate.
You don’t have to write a review or know the right musical terms to join the conversation. Tell us what you liked. Tell us which song you’d send to a friend. We want to hear from you.

Watch Both and Tell Us Your Favorite
Here’s your double feature from the Sunset Strip:
Both performances were filmed on September 26, 2026. Both are ready to watch and share.
If you were in the room, leave a comment and tell us what you remember about the night. If you’re watching from somewhere else, tell us where you’re listening from.
And give us your pick. Which performance are you coming back to first? Is it the story behind the newer song, or a return to a track from the debut record?
There’s no wrong answer. We’re putting both out because we want you to have the chance to hear them together.

Keep Up With TWOFEW
You can find more performances in the Watch section of our official website, along with music links, band information, and updates about what we’re doing next.
If you’ve got a friend who loves piano rock, send them one of the videos. If someone you know would connect with the dedication behind the first performance, share the story along with the link.
That personal connection is a big part of why we do this. A song leaves the room where it was written, reaches someone else, and starts meaning something to them.
Thank you for giving these performances your time. Turn them up, pass them around, and keep an eye out for what comes next.
From Phoenix to the Sunset Strip, let’s rock out.
We’ll see you out there.
